Bedford Co., VA - There will be fewer teachers and bigger classes in Bedford Co. schools next fall. 46 positions were cut when the school board approved the budget on Thursday night. Most are teaching jobs, but some support staff positions, as well as 40 student slots for Pre-K were also cut. School board chairman, Gary Hostutler says those slots could come back, if the state restores the money. The budget is now $103 million, which is $500,000 less than last years.
