Bicyclist Killed in Bedford Co. Laid to Rest in PA

Michael Jenkins charged with hit and run

Huntingdon Valley, PA -The bicyclist police say was killed by a driver in Bedford County last week was laid to rest this morning in Pennsylvania.

Sean McQuaid, 53, previously lived in Philadelphia according to an online obituary. McQuaid was also an Air Force veteran.

Police say McQuaid was riding his bike near his parents' home on Route 122, near Route 24 when he was hit the night of March 21. McQuaid died the next day at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Michael Jenkins, 26, of Bedford County is charged with hit and run resulting in death.

Search warrants say a witness saw Jenkins stop and pull McQuaid's bike from underneath his SUV, but that Jenkins did not help McQuaid.
