Danville, VA- There will be a Domestic Violence Awareness benefit concert at The Highlander Restaurant in Danville on Saturday.
The concert starts at 4 p.m. and goes until midnight. There will be live entertainment, a silent auction, and prizes.
Since it's a week before Halloween, people are encouraged to come in costume.
The event coordinator says they've had different events all month, but they want to close out the month a little differently.
"We've had vigils and we've had proclamation signings and things of that nature, and all of those were awareness events,"said domestic violence victim advocate Karen Ingram. "They were all very intimate and sad, and so to close it we wanted to not only do a benefit but we wanted it to be more on the happy side."
Tickets are $10 at the door and all of the proceeds will go to helping victims of domestic violence in Danville and Pittsylvania County.
If you will like to make a donation, you can call Karen Ingram at (434) 713-3666 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
