Saved by the Belt: Bedford Man Honored With Award
Bedford, VA - A Bedford man is being honored for essentially saving his own life.
A dashcam video from last May shows a driver going the wrong way on 460, hitting a car driven by Edward Davis.
Thursday night at Bedford's Crime Prevention Day event, Davis will be presented the Saved by the Belt Award.
He was nominated by the Bedford Police Department.
"He got hit head-on going 50-55 miles per hour, both vehicles and he got hit head on. He's 73 years old and he had his seat belt on and was not injured at all," said Lt. Todd Foreman.
The driver of the other car, Nicole Daniel from North Carolina, was found guilty of driving the wrong way on a one-way.
Daniel was also wearing a seat-belt.
