Bedford Co., VA - Officials have charged two people with malicious wounding after a fight in Bedford County Thursday.
Officials from the Bedford County Sheriff's Office say they responded to a call at East Lynchburg-Salem Turnpike for a fight that was taking place.
They say when they got there, the subject Carson Elkins had a cut on his face and he said an altercation had taken place between he and another man - Sherwood Blake. He said Blake threw a rock at Elkin's car and Elkins confronted him, resulting in a fight.
Elkins, 45, says he was hit by a rock and a bat. Blake says he was struck with a wooden ax handle. Both were treated and released from Bedford Memorial Hospital.
Blake, 45, has been charged with one count of malicious wounding, one count of throwing missiles at a Vehicle, and one count of property damage.
Elkins has been charged with one count of malicious wounding.
