Bedford, VA - One local business owner is hoping to hit a home run with customers. The batting cages are back in full swing in Bedford.
KJ's Food and Fun Zone is on Burks Hill Road, where The Wooden Stick used to be. The property was vacant for about a decade.
The owners hope to reopen the 18 hole miniature golf course by the end of August.
Owner Shelli Bramblett says customers are both reminiscing and making new memories.
"The woman just started grinning. I was like, 'are you happy?' And she said, 'yeah'. She said my husband and I came here and played mini golf on a date in high school. I was just like 'aw'. It just gave me goose bumps," Bramblett said.
The owners say they also have plans for a small restaurant and a birthday party room. The business is named for the owners' two daughters Keeley and Jenna.
