Bass Elem. School's Marshall to Become Sandusky Middle Principal
By Dave Walls
Lynchburg, VA - The man staff and students affectionately call "Mr. Marshall" has decided to take on a new challenge, at a new school. After 20 years at William Bass Elementary School, Principal Leverne Marshall will become the new principal at Sandusky Middle School in the fall. Marshall met with the faculty of both Sandusky Middle and Bass Elementary schools to discuss the transitional period. Staff members like Health Assistant Nogjui Robertson spoke fondly of Marshall, saying "He has a big heart for his staff here and his students, and he's really, really going to be missed." Under Marshall's guidance, Bass Elementary is now an academic leader, with its year-round class schedule helping to fill the gaps in student education. Marshall says the opportunity at Sandusky will provide opportunities to create new relationships with teachers and parents to help students succeed. Marshall emphasized "The word is going to be 'WE'. We are going to get this job done, together, we can make a difference for the students."
