Altavista, VA - The 14th annual Avoca wine festival kicked off Saturday in Altavista.
Many crowded the town for the big day. The morning kicked off with a town-wide yard sale followed by voting for the Scarecrow Stroll.
There were seven local vineyards and dozens of local vendors present. There was also live music and activities for the kids.
Saturday was the rain date for the event that was canceled in September.
"To see the turnout that we've seen today- and for the community involvement to be the way that it is- I couldn't ask for anything more, it's been fantastic," said Mike Hudson, Executive Director of the Avoca Museum.
