Arrest Made After Loaded Handgun Found at Lynchburg Regional Airport

Lynchburg, VA - A Forest resident has been arrested for allegedly having a loaded .45 caliber handgun in Lynchburg Regional Airport. The Transportation Security Administration says officers detected the gun inside a carry-on bag as the person passed through the X-ray machines. The TSA says this comes just a day after a record 18 guns were confiscated at airport security checkpoints nationwide. There have been two other instances at the Lynchburg airport alone already this year.
