Arlington, VA - People from all across the nation are expected to visit the gravesite of President John F. Kennedy this week at Arlington National Cemetery, to mark Friday's 50th anniversary of Kennedy's assassination.
A wreath laying will take place at the gravesite on Friday. A video feed of the gravesite will stream all day on the cemetery's website.
"It's important that people understand that his legacy was more than just his presidency, that he actually performed military service," said Renea Yates, Director of Interment at Arlington National Cemetery. "It's important that we educate folks on his life and his legacy, not just as the president but the other things that contributed to our nation's defense."
A pictorial exhibit on President Kennedy will be open in the first floor of the cemetery's Memorial Amphitheater until December 1.
