Area Guide to 4th of July Celebrations

BEDFORD: A gathering of Taps Buglers from the organization Bugles Across America will be meeting at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA on the morning of July 4, 2014 to play a coordinated/group Taps around the Memorial grounds. This is in honor of the 70th Anniversary of D-Day and for the men who died on 6 June 1944. Group Taps will be played at 11am. CONCORD: The Concord Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will host a parade on Friday, July 4, starting at 10:00am from the Concord Elementary School and end at the Concord Volunteer Fire Department Station. BBQ and Hotdogs will be available for purchase at the fire station after the parade. There will be drawings for a 42? LG TV and a Fire Fighter Edition Henry Lever Action .22 Rifle. Anyone interested in being in the parade please be at the Concord Elementary School by 9:00am to line up. DANVILLE: Fourth of July Celebration Event Schedule:{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{} 8 a.m. - Centra Medical Group Patriot Challenge - Anglers Park Featuring a 5K/10K and Fun Run, the trail race on Anglers Ridge Mountain Bike Trail is a great way to start off Independence Day. An ice cream social will follow the race.
