Apocalypse Ale Works Wins Gold in International Competition
Forest, VA - They beat them all out; Sam Adams, New Belgium, some of the best. But now, the folks at Apocalypse Ale Works in Forest are gold medal winners.
The owners found out on the Fourth of July that they had placed first in the Belgian Dubbel Ale category for the U.S. Beer Open Championship. This is an international Beer competition with more than 2500 breweries competing. Apocalypse Ale Work's Lustful Maiden is the medal winner.
The company is only six months old, and they're already beating out some of the biggest names in beer.
"It almost gives us validity for all the hard work that we've done and all the blood sweat and tears that my husband and I have put into this building, it's just been amazing" said owner, Lee John.
This was the first competition the owners had ever entered.
