Amherst Police Charge Man in Connection to Series of Vandalisms

Amherst, VA - The Amherst Police Chief says officers have made an arrest in connection to a series of vandalisms in Amherst County.

Jaquan Harris, 18, is charged with destruction of property, grand larceny, among others. Harris was arrested around 3 a.m. Friday.

Three churches and the post office in the county were hit earlier this month. Several electronics were taken.

Police Chief Kelvin Brown says some of that property has been recovered.

Right now, the investigation is ongoing and Chief Brown says more arrests are expected.
