Amherst Co., VA - What started as a typical traffic stop in Amherst County turned out to be anything but.
Deputy John Ferguson clocked a car going 100 miles per hour on the 29 bypass on Saturday afternoon.
When dispatchers ran the man's driver's license, Ferguson learned the driver was out on bond, waiting to go on trial for the murders of two women in Birmingham, Alabama.
"He was very calm and cooperative. He was very calm. He didn't give me a hard time at all," said Ferguson.
Cameron Rayford waived his right to an extradition hearing but remains at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
Authorities in Alabama have up to 30 days to pick him up.
