Alliance for Excellence Holds Annual Conference

Ringgold,VA-- A local non-profit that works to help minority students reach academic and personal success, spent the day inspiring many teens.

Alliance for Excellence had their annual African-American Male Conference at Cherrystone Missionary Baptist Association Center in Ringgold.

Several middle schoolers, high schoolers and college students attended workshops that focused on how reach their full potential during school. They also learned how to stay on the right path when they graduate.

"We want to make sure that our students not only know how to do well academically, but once they leave our schools and institutions, that they know to perform well out in the workforce," said Ervin Griffin, President of Halifax Community College in North Carolina.

There was also a panel discussion at the end of the conference which included local law enforcement and a city council member.
