Abuse Case Against Bedford Mother Moves Forward
Bedford Co., VA - The case against a Bedford woman accused of putting a rope around her baby's neck will be heard by a grand jury.
Charitye Tanner waived her right to a preliminary hearing on a child abuse and endangerment charge Tuesday in Bedford County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
Police tell us Tanner and the baby's father were in a custody dispute in September, when investigators say she sent a picture of the one-year-old girl with the rope to the father to scare him.
Police say the child was removed from the home by social services.
