Friday, ABC 13 and Gleaning for the World will be collecting cash and supplies at our Lynchburg and Danville Studios from noon until 6:30 p.m.
Families in Moore, Oklahoma lost everything after the deadly tornado hit May 23.
"Families got wiped out when the tornados hit, and a lot of the supplies that you don't think about needing everyday you can't get access to as easily," said Andrew Young with Gleaning for the World.
Impacted families are not the only ones that donated items are going to. Scott Haynes is an Associate Pastor of Church of the Harvest in Oklahoma. He says the supplies are also going to volunteers, from all over the country, who are working with his church to help rebuild.
-"There are going to be thousands of volunteers coming through this state, serving these people. They are going to be out working 12 or 14 hour days," he said.
Your donations make things a lot easier for those volunteers who are on the ground, serving those affected.
"Thank you so much, seriously, it's a big deal. If you can't get here and be hands on like we are, the least you can do is send supplies," said Carson Bray, a volunteer in Moore OK.
The ABC 13 Danville studio at the corner of N. Ridge and Monroe Streets and the Lynchburg studio is on 2023 Langhorne Road.
