      69th D-Day Anniversary

      Bedford, VA - 69 years ago, soldiers stormed the beach of Normandy in a crucial turning point in World War II.
      Thursday, the National D-Day Memorial will honor those soldiers who fought in that horrific battle.
      The ceremony will include speaker Brigadier General Charles Whittington.
      The memorial will also dedicate a series of plaques that will recognize several D-Day veterans who are expected to attend.
      There will also be music from Enduring Freedom Honor Team.
      The ceremony is at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bedford D-Day Memorial.
      Admission is free until noon.
      Guest are asked to bring their own chairs.
