Danvile, VA-- Some brides-to-be got a little extra help on Sunday. Danville played host to the Third Annual Bridal Showcase and Wedding Expo at the Institute for Advanced Learning.
Sponsored by Showcase Magazine, brides got a chance to get lots of advice on how to plan the perfect wedding.
A few brides at the event said wedding planning can be pretty stressful, but the expo helped relieve some of that stress and provide helpful information.
"Figuring out the colors, where I want to do them , how I'm going to have them together, and I guess putting everything together, it's all pretty stressful," said bride Jami Crane.
Nearly 100 brides-to-be were on hand to get a little bit of guidance on how to make their big day, unforgettable.
"I'm getting married December 29th and I wanted to get some last minute ideas," said Bride Latoria Scott.
"I'm trying to figure out how to get this whole wedding planning thing done," said Crane.
Luckily, 30 vendors were on hand to help out.
"So many different areas of expertise from venues, to gifts for their attendance, there's just everything to find in there," said event organizer Misty Brooks.
"I may not have a bride come in and see me at the store to purchase a gown, but I'm giving her information to use when she's here at the show about ordering dresses and how you should plan your wedding," said store manager of Celebration Bridal, Jessica Boardman.
Vendors say planning a wedding can be stressful especially with so many options out there. They hope event's like this making the planning process a bit easier since dozens of companies are all under one roof.
"We just like to get everybody together in one spot, make it easy for the brides to be," Brooks said.
"I went to ones out of town and stuff like that but at least this is one that's local so I know the local people to call," said Crane.
The event organizers said they were glad to be able to help the brides but were also glad they could showcase the many wedding businesses available in the area.
