38th Annual Lynchburg Classic Takes Over City Stadium
Lynchburg, VA- More than 20 bands from around the state marched into City Stadium Saturday for the 38th Annual Lynchburg Classic.
The event drew bands from every corner of the Commonwealth. Each band performance lasted around 10 minutes. Both E. C. Glass and Heritage High Schools performed. E. C. Glass' performance featured music from The Wizard of Oz and the Broadway play Wicked. The Heritage performance was called Treasure Island.
Parents say they're happy to see a packed house because a cheering crowd helps with performances.
"It's very important because it shows them that we support them and we are out here backing them up, and then they have a whole lot better time and they showcase their work a whole lot better," said Crystal Denovis, the parent of a freshman band member.
The Classic is a joint fundraiser hosted by the marching bands at both E. C. Glass and Heritage High Schools.
