Many Felt the 3.2 Magnitude Earthquake Confirmed out of Powhatan, VA
Lynchburg, VA - Our Chief Meteorologist, Sean Sublette confirms that there was a 3.2 magnitude earthquake out of Powhatan, VA at 9:47 p.m.Reports were coming in all the way from Washington, DC of people feeling it.
The center was about 8 miles southwest of Powhatan, or 60 miles east of Lynchburg.
This one is more than 100 times weaker than the 5.8 that hit Mineral in 2011.
Although that quake was only about 30 miles north of the one Wednesday night.
