They are part of international Christian summer camp called PASSPORT. They're spread all around Danville simultaneously working on eight sites during the day. They've worked at the Danville Boys and Girls Club, God's Pit Crew and have partnered with different housing agencies. All this week they were at Cardinal Village.
The team was hard at work pressure washing the neighborhood youth center and laying mulch at the playground and in front of homes. They also washed light covers and picked up trash.
The campers said loved working at this site. They built relationships with the children in the neighborhood and the kids have also jumped in to help.
"We're really passionate about doing missions differently. When we see a need we don't want to just walk away from it, so we like our campers to learn that there's other people than just in their own little small communities. We want to broaden their horizons a little bit," said Amy East, Mission Project Coordinator for PASSPORT Camp.
The team has one more week in Danville. Before they came here, they were doing the same thing in Jacksonville, Florida.
