Bedford, VA - A 15-year-old from Bedford is well known around the area as the Elvis Presley impersonator.
Taylor Rodriguez has been invited to perform at Elvis Week in Graceland, the huge estate in Memphis that used to be Elvis' home.
The high school freshman has been working on the moves, dances and singing for years.
"I started getting interested in Elvis when I was 7," Rodriguez said.
His aunt introduced him to the King of Rock 'n' Roll.
"We would always listen to Elvis music in the car. And I would always kept searching Elvis Presley on YouTube and stuff like that. But one night, I just stayed on the computer," Rodriguez said.
He was determined to learn the songs and those iconic moves. Soon, he started performing around town, singing at birthday parties, weddings and benefits.
Taylor is also a regular at his parent's Bedford restaurant, El Cazador. He draws a huge crowd.
Soon, though, the high school freshman will be on stage in front of thousands of people in Memphis for Elvis Week.
"It's overwhelming feeling. It's really neat, it's exciting, it's kind of nerve-racking because I'm counting the days that I'm getting ready to go there," Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez says the hardest part about being Elvis is perfecting the dance moves.
"He had a unique style, and I want to have a unique style too. But, he was crazy," Rodriguez said laughing.
Taylor will be performing in Graceland in August. He says more than 200,000 people are expected for Elvis Week there. He's also been working on a record.
He's next show will be at El Cazador in Bedford on June 29 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
