Lynchburg, VA- By now you've probably heard of Live Healthy Lynchburg and the 100 Mile Challenge. It was a program encouraging people to walk or run a total of 100 miles in three months. Saturday, those who went above and beyond that 100 mile mark were recognized.
Genworth's team logged the most miles for a single organization, completing more than 37,000 miles. Claudia Butler individually walked more than 600 miles. She says she really can see an improvement in her overall health.
"Definitely feel better, I have a more positive outlook on things, lost a little bit of weight so I feel better about that, but mostly I have a strong sense of accomplishment that I set out and achieved far past the goal that I had originally set for myself," said Claudia Butler, the first place winner for Individual Walking.
Live Healthy Lynchburg says that more than 90 organizations participated in the challenge, and between July 1st and September 30th, more than 147,000 miles were logged.
